Like a lot of other football themed slot machines which were programmed for release in 2020, Football Star Deluxe is going to try and fill a void, left by the postponement of Euro 2020. It’s Microgaming’s sequel for Football Star, another game of theirs which came out in 2014. They designed this one with a range of exciting features, but also with certain elements which appear to signal an attempt at reaching the Asian market.

Theme & Design
It might be Euro 2020 inspired, but the graphics of Football Star Deluxe are fairly common. There is nothing too interesting going on here, but I’d say that the quality is above average. You see the football field in the background, the crowd in the stands, while the reels get a mix of themed symbols. Those include four different players, the referee, the pitch, shirts and boots. As major feature symbols, you get a Trophy Scatter and a Logo Wild.
Conclusion
Football Star Deluxe is looking like a good game to play, both for the Asian market and for the European one. It’s going to pay well enough, it has all the right features and a high RTP.

Football Star Deluxe is a 5x5 grid slot with avalanching reels, super-stacked wilds and your choice of 18 to 88 paylines, set against a fairly standard Football theme.
It does have some shining goals: the free spins with those increasing multipliers and super stacked wilds can bring in some real fist-pumping wins.
As a follow up the Football Star slot though, it is an improvement, mostly because the base game is a lot more fun, you get bigger wins, and you have those avalanching wins to keep you company.
It's just a shame about the theme and the fact the pace can feel a little slow.
